In order to implement the will of the

Council. These will be autonomous within the parameters delineated by the By-Laws of PVEC.
They will report their activities monthly to the Council and must seek its prior approval
for any activity not clearly permitted by the By-Laws.
Each commission will conduct the activities assigned to it
and will not become involved in those assigned to other commissions except in support by
express agreement between the Council and commissions involved.
Each commission will estimate its necessary
expenses for the coming year and submit its budget to the Council by August 31. Each
commission will monitor its expenditures so as to stay within the budgeted amount. The
commissions shall meet on a regular basis and annually submit to the congregation an
evaluation of its work.
Each commission should be comprised of at least 6
members including the following: A chairperson, a secretary, a member of the Council if
not the Chairperson, vice-chairperson, and members at large. The Minister is an ex-officio
member of all commissions. The members will be nominated by the Nominating Committee or by
the congregation at the Annual Congregational Meeting. They will be elected annually by
the congregation during the Annual Congregational Meeting. If there is a vacancy on a
Commission it will be filled by the Nominating Committee until a permanent replacement can
be elected at the next Annual Congregational Meeting.
The member of the commission who is also a member
of the Council carries the responsibility of reporting to the Council the activities of
the commission. The members shall also report back to his/her commission the activities
being carried on by other commissions and the Council. If the Chairperson or the Vice
Chairperson is not a member of the Council, he/she may be invited to attend Council
meetings.
Commissions are encouraged to obtain feedback from
the Congregation concerning programs or activities carried out by the Commissions.
All commissions shall operate by the guideline set
